MKN is seeking a highly motivated Civil, Agricultural, or Environmental Engineer who is excited to take on a technical leadership role in an innovative, rapidly growing water resources engineering firm. We are a team-oriented and highly motivated group with offices in Irvine, Oceanside, Arroyo Grande, Bakersfield, Fresno, San Jose and Ventura. This position has the option for a hybrid work model and can be based in the Bakersfield office.

Duties:

Project and client management; design of water and wastewater infrastructure; hydraulic modeling of water resources, water delivery systems, water/wastewater treatment and wastewater collection systems; preparation of hydraulic calculations and reports; site visits and coordination with clients and staff; performing quantity takeoffs and developing cost estimates; developing technical studies and reports; performing technical research such as product information, design codes, regulatory standards; analysis of water resources management strategies; program and construction management support; and review and development of environmental compliance and permitting strategies. Staff engineers will be expected to engage in business management activities, support staff development and strategic growth. Under the mentorship of Principal and Senior Engineers, you will gain valuable experience on our various projects and ultimately advance your career to a senior level position. You will grow in developing relationships with clients, collaborating with fellow MKN team members across California, participating in professional societies such as ASCE, and achieve great professional and personal development success.

Expectations:

Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as well as eagerness and enthusiasm to serve in both field and office positions on a wide variety of planning and engineering projects throughout California.

Requirements & Experience:

Position requires a B.S. in Civil, Agricultural or Environmental Engineering, with a minimum of three years’ experience. An M.S. is also preferred although not required for this position. Engineering-in-training certification and P.E. registration in California are required. Proficiency with MS office products is required. Applicant should identify any prior experience working in AutoCAD as well as any engineering software such as InfoWorks, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, BioWIN, and other modeling programs.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation will be based on experience with a range of $100,000 to $110,000 annually. A relocation stipend will be considered and the company has a discretionary bonus program. The firm offers competitive benefits and most importantly an opportunity for mentorship by a senior engineering team with water/wastewater/recycled water infrastructure experience on major regional projects throughout the western US.
