(MKN) is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Planner who is excited to become part of a growing, water resources engineering firm looking to transform consulting engineering in our Arroyo Grande / San Luis Obispo Offices. The current position is available in our Arroyo Grande / San Luis Obispo locations.

Duties:

Duties will include but are not limited to the following: review and processing of water supply and demand information; review and processing of wastewater flow information; development of GIS data and mapping for water distribution, wastewater collection, and recycled water systems; development of water distribution, wastewater collection, and recycled water system hydraulic models; utilization of hydraulic models to complete hydraulic evaluations; hydraulic calculations using Excel and or other programs; preparation of technical memorandums and master planning documents (including preparation of tables, charts, and GIS-based maps).   

You will grow in developing relationships with clients, collaborating with fellow MKN team members across California, participating in professional societies such as ASCE, and achieve great professional and personal development success.

Expectations:

Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as well as eagerness and enthusiasm to serve on a wide variety of planning and hydraulic modeling projects throughout California.

Requirements & Experience:

Position requires a B.S. or M.S. in Planning or related field. Applicant should identify any prior experience working with the following programs: ESRI ArcGIS Platform including ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro; QGIS; Bentley WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, SewerCAD, SewerGEMS; Innovzye InfoWater, InfoSewer, InfoWater Pro; Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Visio, Power BI; and other modeling programs.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; MKN does not sponsor foreign nationals for employment-based visas or permanent residence.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation based on experience, with a salary range of $70,000-$85,000. MKN offers competitive benefits and most importantly an opportunity for mentorship by a senior engineering team with water/wastewater/recycled water infrastructure experience on major regional projects throughout the western US.
