MKN is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Engineer to lead and support projects focused on water and wastewater systems. This role will play a critical part in delivering innovative engineering solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to sustainable water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, design, and management of water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution systems, and collection systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies, prepare technical reports, and provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
- Develop detailed engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Manage and mentor junior staff, providing technical guidance and professional development support.
- Coordinate and collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project alignment with objectives and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform site assessments, inspections, and evaluations to identify project needs and potential challenges.
- Prepare proposals, budgets, schedules, and project scopes in alignment with organizational goals and client requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 7+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a proven track record in project design and management.
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, hydraulic modeling, and infrastructure systems.
- Collaborative approach to leading and working within diverse, multidisciplinary project teams
- Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterCAD, SewerCAD).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $175,000. The firm offers a highly competitive salary and fringe benefits, and most importantly, an opportunity for engagement and support from an engineering team that has led major regional water resource projects California.
