(MKN) is seeking a highly motivated Civil or Environmental Assistant Engineer who is excited to become part of a growing, water resources engineering firm looking to transform consulting engineering in our Bakersfield Office. We are a rapidly growing, team-oriented and highly motivated group with offices in San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande, Bakersfield, Fresno, Irvine, San Jose, and Ventura. The current position is available in our Bakersfield location.

Duties:

This position will split time between field and office work. Duties will include but are not limited to: creating field observations and reports; managing quality assurance including testing, reporting and outcomes; modeling of water and wastewater systems; assisting in the design of water and wastewater infrastructure; research; coordinating with clients, subconsultants, vendors and staff; preparing proposals and reports. You will grow in developing relationships with clients, collaborating with fellow MKN team members across California, participating in professional societies such as ASCE, and achieve great professional and personal development success.  

Expectations:

Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as well as eagerness and enthusiasm to serve in both field and office positions on a wide variety of planning and engineering projects throughout California.

Requirements & Experience:

Position requires a B.S. or M. S. in Civil, Agricultural or Environmental Engineering. Applicant should identify any prior experience working in AutoCAD as well as InfoWorks, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, BioWIN, and other modeling programs.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; MKN does not sponsor foreign nationals for employment-based visas or permanent residence.

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary for this position is $75,000K – $90,000K per year based on experience. The firm offers competitive benefits, an excellent path for advancement and most importantly an opportunity for mentorship by a senior engineering team with water/wastewater/recycled water infrastructure experience on major regional projects throughout the western US.
